Stingrays have been honored with the Military Support Business of the Year Award

The South Carolina Stingrays have received the Military Support Business of the Year Award.

The Stingrays were recently honored with this award by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce during the Salute to the Military event at the North Charleston Convention Center. The event recognized the enlisted, reservists and civilian employees for their volunteer service to the community.

The Stingrays shared the honor with fellow South Carolina sports team, the Charleston RiverDogs. The RiverDogs are a Single-A baseball team.

The Stingrays played host to two military appreciation nights in partnership with Force Protection and dedicated a night to the United States Marine Corps during the 2010-11 season. More than 1,000 tickets were donated to the local military outlets for all three events.
