The Toronto Blue Jays are still trying to recoup the money they lost when the G-20 Summit caused the Blue Jays-Philadelphia Phillies series moved last summer.
The Blue Jays have requested a claim of nearly $500,000 from the Canadian Government. The G-20 Summit caused the Blue Jays-Phillies series to be moved from Toronto to Philadelphia.
The Blue Jays official claim is for $470,854. The high-profile, high-security meetings caused Toronto to lose money from the baseball series and have to deal with daily protests in the streets.
The series could have been the return of Phillies ace pitcher Roy Halladay. The Blue Jays traded Halladay to the Phillies in December 2009.
