Minor only lasts 4 1/3 innings, but will be sent back to Triple-A this weekend

By Anthony Caruso III

Must rookies struggle in their first appearance.

That was the case for Atlanta Braves rookie pitcher Mike Minor. Minor had a poor start Wednesday night, as he walked three batters and threw a wild pitch. He allowed a two-run first inning in the Braves loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Minor went just 4 1/3 innings in his season debut. He allowed seven hits and five runs with four walks, while striking out two batters. This is likely is last major league appearance for a while.

Minor will be sent back to Triple-A at the end of the weekend. Minor will be sent back in order to make room for Jair Jurrjens when he comes off the disabled list.
