Lawrie is now out until at least August with his fractured hand

By Anthony Caruso III

The Toronto Blue Jays thought they would be getting Brett Lawrie back soon.

But Lawrie is still having trouble gripping a bat. He has been dealing with a fractured hand. The Blue Jays third base prospect has been on the minor league disabled list since early June with a fracture in his left hand.

The injury is reportedly not healing quick enough. As a result, the Blue Jays are not expecting Lawrie to be back until at least early August now.

Once he returns from this injury, the Blue Jays hope to make Lawrie a September call up to the Majors.
