Raternick is called on again for the second straight year by the Rush to replace Michna

By Anthony Caruso III

The Chicago Rush has made a trade to help their playoff chances.

The Rush previously had Russ Michna as their quarterback before he went on injured reserve. The Rush had to quickly find a replacement and they made a trade with the Kansas City Command for JJ Raterink.

Raternick had 3,723 yards and 65 touchdowns with the Command this season. Raternick was called on to replace Michna last year when Michna was placed on injured reserve as well. Michna is likely out the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

“We are excited to have JJ back in Chicago,” said Rush head coach Bob McMillen. “We hope that he can come to Chicago and help us prepare for the playoffs. We are confident that he has the skills to learn the system we have in place quickly.”
