Belinelli fined once the NBA changed his flagrant foul

By Anthony Caruso III

Marco Belinelli will be a little short-handed when he goes back to Europe in a few months.

Belinelli, a European player playing in the NBA, has been fined $10,000 dollars by the NBA. He was fined for a flagrant foul on Shawn Marion during the New Orleans Hornets 1 point win, 93-92, over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

NBA executive vice president Stu Jackson has ruled that the foul, which was initially ruled as a flagrant foul, penalty one, has been reviewed and changed by the league. It was changed to the more serious penalty two, which caused the fine.

The foul occurred when Marion lost his balance, while trying to make a fast-break lay-up. Marion injured his ribs from the foul when he landed on several photographers near the basket.
