Grizzlies are close to knocking out the Spurs from the playoffs

By Anthony Caruso III

The Memphis Grizzlies are one just closer to winning their first NBA series.

The Grizzlies has jumped out to a 3-1 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs. The 8th-seeded Grizzlies are just one game away from taking out the top-seeded Spurs.

The Grizzlies have made a franchise history of first in this series with the Spurs. They won the first game in the series, their first-ever playoff win. Then, in Game 3, they won again, which was their first playoff win at home.

Now, the Grizzlies will travel to San Antonio in an attempt to become the second 8th-seeded team to knock off the top-seeded team since the NBA expanded to a best-of-seven series, when the 2007 Golden State Warriors defeated the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks.

“I know a lot of people didn’t expect us to be here,” Grizzlies guard Mike Conley said. “It’s not like we were expected to be up 3-1 at this point. In our locker room, we’re just playing it game by game. We want to come into San Antonio looking to end it there. We’re focused and want to be able to move onto the next round.”
