Ryan Mallett finds the best mentor.
Mallett gets to learn from Tom Brady. Brady is a numerous Super Bowl winning quarterback, and now will have Mallett as his back up after the Patriots took a flier on Mallett with the 74th overall pick in the third round.
Mallett was the top quarterback on the Patriots draft board. Others had Mallett as a third-round through a fifth round draft pick.
Mallett is very similar to former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe, before the Patriots got rid of him. The Patriots could use Mallett as the successor for Brady, or an eventual trade chip.
